Neal Mason used to be an international athlete and now travels a lot. He`s had poetry collections published by Peterloo Poets and by the University of Salzburg Press. For six months, he was Writer In Residence in a Welsh valley and tutored courses for the University of Wales. He’s had many stories and plays published and broadcast, including by the BBC, but thinks his forte is stage plays – which is odd because he`s never had one produced. Recently, one of his novels was shortlisted for the Yeovil Literary Prize and also Fiction Fast Track. The drawback with travelling a lot, he says, is that he can`t have a cat (he loves all cats) but at least, nowadays, electronic storage means he doesn’t have to lug around all his unpublished material (which is considerable).
