Science-me a Story is a writing competition that was born in 2017 with the aim of promoting scientific outreach in a fun and engaging way appropriate for primary school children. The ultimate goal of the contest is to promote the scientific spirit and inspire the next generation that will later build our future. We hope to achieve this through the communication of scientific achievements, findings, methods, and anecdotes in the form of short stories. This initiative is sponsored by Fundación Lilly and has the support of Principia, the University of Liverpool and the Instituto Cervantes in Manchester.
The Society of Spanish Researchers in the United Kingdom (SRUK) invites you to participate in the 3rd edition of Science-me a Story. This initiative sponsored by the Lilly Foundation aims to promote the use of short stories as a tool to communicate science to children in a fun and engaging way. Submission opens 18th of February.and ends 20th of April.
Anyone aged over 18 years old willing to write a short story with scientific content for kids up to 12 years old can participate, independently of the nationality. The contest has two categories: stories in Spanish and stories in English. Stories need to be submitted before 20th of April and will be evaluated by a professional jury. There will be three economic prizes ( £150, £100 and £50) for each category. Check the competition rules below.
